I think the biggest problem is to balance the question "Economy x Protection of life". The isolation measures necessarily end up affecting some sectors of the economy and generating unemployment.
It happens that if the measures do not happen, the rate of spread will increase and many lives can be lost. I think countries will end up making seasonal isolation measures to lessen the impact on the economy, but the isolation will continue until the cure or vaccine comes up.
