okay so u are 17 and u are smoking starting early i guess,
my father before he passed away was a doctor a big well-respected doctor and i went to to P.T private collage for 1 year and got a high gpa with the lowest effort unfortunately he passed away due to covid, i tried to kms smoke w.e it is what it is but here is ur solution because me my self i smoke and i can quit whenever i want and come back whenever i want i quit for 2 years came back for 3 months quit again for 1 year and recently started smoking again.
TLDR;
you smoke because ur body needs nicotine and nicotine is a substance that makes you calm and it is released in the body naturally ,
so let's say someone on daily basis is giving u apples when he passes by u but then he saw u buying apples from someone else and not taking it from him for free,
the only logical sense here is that he will stop giving u free apples because why would i make my self tired and produce or give him apple when he is buying it.
the moment u smoked first ur body said no u continued it still said no 4 days later it created receptors for the substances in the cigarettes.
How to stop is not the problem but how to stop the habit of the hand holding position while smoking is the problem and you will understand once you quit and i'll make sure you do because even when i quit smoking i still had the position like there was a cig in my hand all the time.
So, First Step :
just like any drug xannax,valium,shit,etc w.e you can't just suddenly stop smoking , why ? you might ask. remember that guy with the apples lets say you go to him and say sorry man i bought from the other guy while u were giving them for free to me i need you now. he will say NOW ? i don't have anynow so you go back buy more apples and back in circle on e which is smoking.
So you have to send a signal to your body like let's say this is a graph of nicotine ------------------- this is u smoking normally but u can't stop and make it like this

but you can do this instead look how many you are smoking in general 1 pack ? 2 packs ? 3 packs ? then start going slowly down instead of 20 or 40 a day
make a schedule and reduce it by 1 cig every day until u eventually go to 0 cigs this way ur telling ur body this message or signal ---_--___---___"day 3"____----___"youre body got the signal here"---______-----------"body is now producing nicotine again on it's on.
so that's how reduce slowly not instantly, and go the the gym or get a dog and walk it out and stop sitting on ur pc alot or do like i do i work at a shitty job
but not because i need money its because i have to move because my spinal cord has a slight turn and what's causing it is me setting not moving a lot althought i'm not eating or even gaining weight i'm losing alot. but everyone has his problems and don't listen to the ones who will bring you down and don't let me down as well i took my time to write all of this to help you. and if you still can't CALL A DOCTOR IT'S THAT EASY.
