Player Base Activity in Counter Strike 2: Is It Still Thriving?

I've been out of the loop with Counter Strike 2 for a while and was wondering how active the player base is these days. Are there still many players engaged in the game? How do the servers look during peak times? Any insights on the current state of the game would be greatly appreciated as I'm considering jumping back in.

The game's playerbase has significantly decreased since CS:GO. The game used to have the highest twitch.tv viewers, now it's ranking 3rd or 4th. Remember when everyone used to follow CS:GO tournaments and watch them? They now barely have any viewers and people don't really care about them anymore except some of the big streamers who co-stream them. The game lost its essence and became boring after they started to modernize it.
