Updating does work but if you are really are in need i recommend reinstalling your whole windows for a smoother experience!

press "Win" button then
search "Windows Update Settings" then
click "check for updated"
if you saw a list of program that you need to install or download..
just click "install now"
it wont harm your computer,
in fact it helps your computer improve and make it smoother
