Yes, I have some solid advice:
I strongly recommend a good teaching language. Many of the common recommendations (Python, JavaScript, C, Swift, etc.) are industrial languages that were never designed, nor intended, for instructional purposes. They all carry a lot of baggage that can distract a beginner who should be focussed on learning the basic programming concepts.
The best teaching language, in my opinion, is Smalltalk. It was designed by Alan Kay and his team at Xerox PARC for teaching programming to children. The language is supremely simple. Its syntax can fit on a post card!
