you need to have a motherboard that accepts the mhz you want the you go to the bios of the motherboard and them you can change there if you need more help search you motherboard model on youtube.

its depend on what kind of your fps game requirement demands, my computer still using ddr3 i7 4th gen and using 1600mhz at 16gb ram,my pc mostly still can run new fps game like cod warzone smoothly,also sometimes i recorded my gameplay with no fps drop issue.
