i bought a ram with 3200hz..but i check on task manager it only show 2900hz..

Most likely that the motherboard only support this, or that you have other sticks installed with a lower hz, wich means that even though they are 3200 it will be 2900 if those lower hz sticks are 2900.

it is best to go into the BIOS and overclock the RAM there

wont matter a lot if you have at least 8 gb of ram

3200mhz mean your pc can reach this value but his default frequency is not the max if you want to use max u have to overclock with a tool like Throttlestop
