Lately, you see all of these protests for all of these things, but the one thing you never see here in the US is any type of protest or even any discussions about workers' rights. I mean, realistically, we don't really have any. Sure, there are laws and regulations, but no one follows them. After all, why should they? No one going to call them out. Their employees are kept at the poverty line. They can't afford to call them out. Worst case scenario, the job gets shut down and now you and your coworkers are all homeless.

Why don't we see anyone angry about this? It's never talked about on any broad scale, yet we all can name instances of safety violations or discrimination practices. Heck, my last job was Highly discriminatory about who they hired. They also broke several laws, including putting classes in their contract prohibiting their employees from talking about their wages.

I believe it's seriously time we start talking about these things. We all joke about how when someone does something dangerous "OSHA Intensifies", yet realistically, OSHA isn't even a threat. It's a joke. So too are health inspections at a restaurant. We need to talk about this as a worker and as a consumer.

That is true. Check out paramedics. Depending on the state they are in, having minimum 2 jobs and a room mate is a must to barely survive.

Terrible wage, and insanely high suicide rate. Everyone needs them, but ignores the issues...

The way I would love to deal with such ignorant and selfish assholes is unfortunately a felony.

Em vez disso, há imbecis que reclamam e se revoltam sobre como máscaras e como isso infringe suas liberdades ... É realmente triste. Por mais que eu goste de muitos aspectos dos estados, eu odiaria morar lá.

Instead, there are imbeciles who will complain and riot about masks and how that infringes on their freedoms... It really is sad. As much as I like many aspects of the states, I would hate living there.
Because Americans are raised and conditioned to believe in the American dream, and that one day YOU can become the boss and order all you want over your employees. Also, corporations are good guys and only want what's best for you.

The biggest joke of all is at-will employment. Zero worker protections and the employees are at the mercy of the employer not waking up on the wrong side and deciding to fire someone for stupid reasons, and the only benefit the employee has from that system is that they have the right to walk out on the day instead of having to work 2-3 more months to give the employer time to find a replacement. I know some states don't have this system, but many do and it's repulsing how easy it is to fire someone in the U.S. Over here, if you want to fire someone you basically either have to 1) run out of things for the employee to do, 2) The employee has to actively sabotage for the workplace or 3) The employee has to actively refuse to work. And even then you have to first give out a verbal, and then if the employee doesn't listen a written, warning before you can fire them for 2) and 3).

pure reality, one of the biggest problems is the increasing suicide rate in the police for lack of psychological support

In western Europe salary of most people is just ridiculously low, tax rate is more that in most other countries for example in Latvia it is 35,09%, of which 24,09% is paid by the employer and 11% by the worker. And if you want to buy something with your hard earned money you pay 21% VAt

Ah, here in Europe it's the same... Where I live, I blame my people since we have this custom of accepting things as they are, and when one tries to fight it people get pissed off at us thinking that we don't want to work, instead we want a nice job behind a desk doing nothing and getting paid for it.

It really frustrates me when we try to fight for better work conditions and those who are on the same level as we are instead of giving us their support, they just decide to go against us. They're line of thought is mostly "since I had to work hard for a shitty conditions, you should go through the same". It's disgusting tbh.

We ask for good conditions to have a proper balance between work and personal life, we shouldn't be working ourselves to death to be able to buy food, which is pretty much the situation for most people in my country.
