Top Lane Champions:
Garen: Garen is the perfect top laner for new players. He has zero skill shots, so you never have to worry about missing your spells. Garen's combos are easy to grasp and don't require high mechanical skill. With Garen, you can easily 100 to zero a squishy target using simple combos like Q E into R. His build provides a good mix of damage and durability, allowing you to force fights and push your limits. Recommended core build: Stridebreaker rush, Mortal Reminder second, and Dead Man's Plate third. Runes: Conqueror with Triumph, Tenacity, and Last Stand. Best secondaries: Conditioning and Overgrowth.
Mordekaiser: Mordekaiser is slightly more challenging than Garen but still a great pick for low ELO or newer players. His Q has a large hitbox, making it easier to land, and his passive damage with auto attacks can often win fights without needing to hit your spells. Mordekaiser's ultimate is devastating in 1v1 situations and can catch opponents off-guard. Recommended core build: Riftmaker rush, Rylai's second, and Demonic Embrace third. Runes: Conqueror with Triumph, Tenacity, and Last Stand. Optimal secondaries: Second Wind and Revitalize.
Jungle Champions: Shyvana: Shyvana is an excellent choice for newer players looking to climb in ranked. She provides consistency in every game. With Shyvana, focus on full clearing your jungle and reaching level 6 as quickly as possible. Prioritize farming and securing dragons, as her passive grants bonus damage and defensive stats against dragons. Lower ELO players often underestimate the importance of dragons, giving you an advantage. Recommended core build: Frostfire rush, Demonic Embrace second, and Warmog's third. Runes: Press the Attack with Triumph, Alacrity, and Last Stand. Best secondaries: Conditioning and Overgrowth. Trundle: Trundle is another great pick for beginners in the jungle. He excels at dueling and can force plays early on. If you enjoy being aggressive from the start, Trundle is the way to go. His Q steals the enemy's AD, making him particularly effective against physical damage junglers, which are popular in low ELO. Mid Lane Champions: Heimerdinger: Heimerdinger is an easy mid lane champion to pick up and achieve immediate success. Place down turrets and consistently push the enemy under their tower to gain advantages. Melee champions are common in solo queue, which makes Heimer even stronger. Just be cautious of Yasuo, as his wind wall can counter your abilities. Recommended core build: Liandry's rush, Zhonya's second, and Rylai's third. Runes: Comet with Manaflow Band, Transcendence, and Gathering Storm. Secondary runes: Perfect Timing and Biscuit Delivery. Annie: There's no better champion for new players than Annie. She allows you to improve quickly and focuses your efforts on learning macro gameplay. While her W and R are skill shots, they are incredibly easy to land. Annie's Q helps with farming, making last-hitting minions easier and allowing you to focus on other aspects like trading and map awareness. ADC Champions: Miss Fortune: If you're new to the game, Miss Fortune is the ADC you should focus on. Her kit requires less mechanical skill compared to most ADCs. Support Champions: Brand: Brand is a devastating support for lower elos and easier to play than you might think. While he has a couple of skill shots, you don't necessarily need to hit them to make an impact. In longer games, Brand's Liandry's and Demonic Embrace power spike can single-handedly win team fights when combined with his ultimate. Focus on positioning and take advantage of opponents' poor positioning in lower ranks. Recommended core build: Liandry's rush, Demonic Embrace second, and Rylai's third. Runes: Dark Harvest with Taste of Blood, Eyeball Collection, and Ravenous Hunter. Optimal secondaries: Manaflow Band and Scorch. Soraka: Soraka is an excellent choice for new players who prefer buffing up their carries. Her point-and-click heals are easy to use and can turn the tide of team fights. In lower ranks, opponents often fail to focus the support, giving Soraka an advantage. Additionally, her Q skill shot can be rewarding if you land it consistently.
