It might be not fit on slot. Try to remove both and push them on board until you heard noice of click. If still not show up like 16 gb install cpu z or aida64 and check memory part of programs to see are they working or not. You can try to use different memory slots too. It might be have problem about your current slot.

Some mainboard have 4 slots for ram . if you have 4 slots
there must be a gap between them chech it again
