of course its for your own you protect your self if you keep distance

Is because you mask allow air to go in and go out trough a little space above your mouth at the side of you nose, so if too close to other people or in a space with that many people you still can be contamined. If you are wearing a completly closed mask with a filter then you don't need to matin distance.
