I am legitimiatly curious. I have watched streams and played similar games. It seems like a lot of running around for 5-20 mins, then short firefights where you might win and go another 5-20 mins of silence, or die and have to quit.

I don't see the appeal currently, but the game has lasted and been big enough that there must be something here.

I'm especially interested to know about non-group experiences. Most streamers I see seem to have a squad of friends to play with which is not really representative of a normal player. Is this game any good if you're solo?

It was great on release and paved the way for battle royale games, but didnt really keep up with the newer ones IMO
