I love both dogs and cats, but I prefer cats. They are beautiful, with their lantern-like eyes, gorgeous fur and their soft flexible bodies. They are small and can be picked up easily and cuddled. They do not run excitedly to greet their owners when we come home, but cats have little, subtle ways of showing love and affection for us, and for each other. When I come home, my cats are all sitting in the living room when I open the door. They hear my truck pulling in. They always want to be in the same room I am in, no matter what I am doing. They sleep in the bedroom with my husband and I when we go to bed. They cuddle up against us, rub our ankles, and go and get their toys and bring them to us.
