I play both, although my time split between both games isn't equal (7k hours in Dota, about 800 hours in LOL).
Dota is the better designed game with an objectively better monetization. Higher competitive level too.
LOL has a broader appeal and easier to get in to.
But it really comes down to whichever your friends/peers are playing. Having to que even just duos over solo queing makes a huge difference.

I think dota is much harder, because you will deny creeps and roam. it's both good but I prefer league of legends

I agree with you and I do agree that league of legends is way better than dota at least for us, People I met on discord had different opinions

Everybody has his own opinion, and that's good, but it won't change the fact that Lol has the more active community, you generally get more from Lol than from Dota, the only thing that is / was better in Dota was the prize money in the Esport area.

For people like me who are not planning to be a part of the esport thingy I will just stick to league of legends as its my current fav game

But the money doesn't encourage you to play Dota.
In lol you can still play your account up to lvl 30, in dota too but it takes years to find a round in the low area.
The first game I played in Dota, my waiting time for the round was longer than the round itself.
