i guess you need a good lighting, you should know how to ensure not to get overlay shadow. at least get a lighting box or custom box, it should help you. and there's ton of tutorial how to make it perfect shooting for food photography even using your smartphone. you need to make sure there's no shadow. 2-3 lightings it will be the best. which angle you should try and error based on your preferences.
