I love how diverse the city is. I like my long walks and depending on what kind of stuff I feel like I can choose different areas. And after 14 years I still find small corners I didn't even know existed. Coming from Korea where, of course I probably didn't live long enough to know it as well as Berlin, Berlin offers drastic differences between areas. I sometimes also just like to ride the ring Bahn to see how in each area, very different demographic get in and out.
I've said this often and I'll say this again, the city is generally socially conscious. Yes there are still problems and it depends on who you're dealing with. But at least people are aware of others and have their boundaries. Honestly I'm often surprised that a city this diverse and sometimes rowdy has generally very little fights. Most I see is people screaming some haphazard swears at others, but very very seldomly do I see people resorting to dumb physical violence. I'd be more than happy to hear if someone has different experience I'm not aware of.
