you have to watch the enemy team, if they are tanks or if they are weak, if they are ad or ap damage, it all depends on you and your enemy team.

I utilize Blitz, and the in game store filter, i usually filter by the stats i want: magic damage, magic penetration, MR and so on

well in that specific example if darius builds a lot of mr and he's fed u should go for a pen item as well, anti heal too.

if you go vs any full tank and especially on diana you want to build %hp damage items like demonics and you could also go hextech belt and get the flat penetration from that.
I would also suggest void staff either third if they stack it early.
The build would be demonic embrace, sorcerer's boots ,hex tech belt into void staff and from here the items would situational. Such as if they have all in champions like vi,rengar,khazix that are physical damage you would also go zhonyas
