My personal way is kind off strange but quite the useful/quick one, when I was 9-10 yo and was new to computers and games in general and didn't really had any good connection to internet so I used to play hidden object games which were in english and with a lot of trial and error and sheer will to finish the game got a lot of knowledge from there, and the rest from internet/anime and other games. School was basically useless in this part.

im brazilian, my language is portuguese and i learned english playing games, searching in google, searching tutorials in youtube, in the first moment is very hard, but, after a while it gets easy ah, using google translate too
