How does LoL detect the hack??? and can i avoid it???

So i was wondering if you use the hack in LoL, how would they detect it and result with me in a ban?? Do they automatically detect the software? or is it from obvious cheating (ie. skill dodges, landing etc)
And if so, would i be able to get around if i used the hack low-key (mabe to try one combo)

well mostly reports and then the hack itself gets detected sometimes it can last for months sometimes days sometimes weeks you never know to be honest

Djovanni is right they rely mostly on reports but they do detect it locally. I've never been banned for an exact time period for scripting it's always permanent so be careful
