Change Serial Number
Changing serial numbers is an operation that is seldom performed but rather vital for advanced users to realize a particular purpose. A Partition Serial Number is a serial number assigned by the Operating System to a disk partition. The format of partition serial number is: XXXX-XXXX (X could be A, B, C, D, E, F, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9). This disk serial number is automatically generated and assigned when you format a disk partition and there is no documented way to change it without reformatting the disk volume. Partition Assistant allows you to modify the serial number for your disk volume without reformatting the hard drive.
To change the serial number
Step 1. Launch
Step 2. In the pop-up window, input the serial number you want (take 123456 as an example).
Step 3. Press the "Apply" button to commit the pending operation.
