so if you go for value for money then amd good if you want to look a little prettier then nvidia but i also recommend to check out the connection and what your motherboard supports because 3.0 is your motherboard but your new card will start 4.0 but there are problems, my own experience.
ask if you could test run it before buying, here in my country they allow it as long as you wouldn't damage the gpu. Or try bringing the item to a near computer parts seller to get it looked at.
benchmark it in heaven benchmark and compare its results with other same cards from the same manufacturers, i know that msi 1080ti are around 3700-3800 in 1080p on that benchmark
also for longevity i highly advise you to undervolt your gpus, you might lose 5% performance at most (if you won the silicon lottery you might even gain performance) but you get increased lifespan and better consistant performances on the long run
