Method 1: Installing ADB Drivers on PC or Laptop
In this method, you need to make use of PC to change the resolution and display of your Android phone. Besides that, you need to have ADB drivers installed on your PC. If not, it’s suggested to install them first.
Enable USB Debugging
To access Android using a computer through ADB, you need to enable the USB debugging mode. In this mode, computers are able to read the Android devices. To enable USB debugging on your Android device, go to Settings > About > developer option > Build Number and tap it for 7 times. A pop up will appear confirming that developer’s option is enabled on your device.
What’s the Existing DPI?
Now prior to change the DPI values, you’ve to note down the existing DPI values. Just connect your Android phone to PC with the help of USB cable. Open the ADB shell command window and note down the density value.
Change the Values
After noting down the existing DPI of your phone, it’s time to change it the way you like. Usually, on Android devices, DPI values will range from 120 to 640. Higher the DPI means, higher the font size and resolution. It’s suggested to keep it in balance.

Method 2: Download DPI Changer App
If the above doesn’t work for you or you want a simpler solution, download DPI Changer app. The app is free and available to install from Google Play Store. Just do as directed below:
Download DPI Changer Application.
Install it.
Open the App.
You’ll see a welcome page.
Tap on the forward arrow at the bottom right corner of the screen.
You’ll then ask to confirm the root access.
Tap on getting Root.
If your device is not rooted, then you’ll be given with ADB command to go ahead.
For ADB command, you need to enable the USB debugging option in the manner specified above. If it’s already enabled, then skip it.
Now open the command prompt.
Type ADB Devices there and do according to the on-screen.
Then finally, your app will show you the fields to enter your DPI values there. Input the values and press OK and enjoy the changed DPI values.
Method 2: Samsung mobile only
Go to your phone’s Settings menu
Scroll down to Display
Tap on Change screen resolution
You can now select either HD (1280×720), FHD (1920×1080), or WQHD (2560×1440)
Tap on Apply in the top right corner
