use a spoofer if you want to avoid hwid ban, virtual machine just runs on your hardware, you wont be able to hide hardware info from the game
I have tried it before but i keep getting low fps on vm so i dont use it but to my knowledge it does not work because on youtube no one tries it with a cheat but if you want to cheat in vm it should work as long as you download the cheat in vm

You won't get the game to run in a VM most likely, it's very hard to do that, the public methods to do so a couple years ago have all been patched way back.
Even if you could run it, stuff like your GPU is still accessible through the hypervisor, and it would take a massive amount of setup to try and patch up all of these leaks, its just not worth looking into that, and its not worth others looking into it if they're not gonna charge you when they're already able to charge you for a spoofer
