So this little guy is getting - sending 1-0 to another transistors. For example if you press "A" on your keyboard, this little pig getting 1 and senting it to into another transistors. After that another transistor is getting it and sending it to another transistors too. (Like loops).

Therefore, the distance between the transistors is desirable to be as short as possible. For this to happen, the size of the transistors should be reduced as much as possible. As the size of the transistors becomes smaller, more transistors will fit inside the processor, and the distance between these transistors will be as small as possible. This means more speed, less heat.
