Well as my credentials say: Clash Royale! I have spent over 600h in this game, why do I play it so much. Because I enjoy the game, I usually enjoy strategy games which require a bit of thinking. This game is perfect, each match is around 3mins so its easy to whip out your phone anywhere and play a few matches while you are on the bus, waiting for someone to arrive, in breaks etc. You have to be really focused and be careful in both your timing and deployment of a troop, spell or building.
The only other game which I have played the same amount of time is Clash of clans, I used to bang that game out few years back. Me and my friends were in a clan and always roasted each others failed war attacks, man those were good times. I stopped playing this year simply because supercell are focusing on prolonging the game by adding new content for TH11 players etc. This is great and all but the time it takes to get there is tremendous and IMO not worth it. It’s like chasing an endless tunnel, when you are finally maxed they eventually release new levels on troops, buildings, defences, heroes etc. And I just left at around max TH10, maybe I will go back someday. But not unless supercell make their updates focused more on making the game fun instead of prolonging it (although that’s what a game developer should do to increase revenue- prolong the game)
Some honourable mentions: 8 ball pool, the blockheads, lineage 2, gangstar vegas, motor world car factory, C.A.T.S, shadow fight 2 and shadow fight 3, jetpack joyride, brave frontier.
