Given the fact that infrastructure is probably still okay, your initial movements should be towards safety, security and then try to gather as much information as possible before the internet and televisions go down, assuming the apocalypse gets that bad.
Honestly, given how unrealistic it is, it's entirely possible that it'll peter out on itself.
If that's untrue, though, you need to get access to as much unperishable food as possible and bottled water. You need enough to be able to survive a couple of weeks for all the corpses to rot.
