The best way to test your card is to download Novabench for free and use it to score your video card. Then you can compare that score to the average score for your type of video card to see how well it's running
CPU bottleneck and GPU bottleneck are both different issues of the same platform. A wrong pair of processor and graphics card usually is what causes a bottleneck.
The computer will restart normally and will no longer get the black screen. See if that works for you. I didn't mess with any setting in the BIOS. I am assuming that having two graphic driver install don't like to play well with each other :)

It may be something rattling or it may be the fan itself.
You might be able to find the rattle (if it's rattling) by putting a "little" pressure one things to see if you can get it to stop.
If you don't think it's a rattle....then it's probably the fan/motor itself.
