actually I've made a game with similar movement to PoP for a game jam lol it was called Our Legacy i believe.

I use Unreal Engine 4 and 5. it makes things so much easier. i use C++ but you can make games without learning any programming language using unreal engine's visual scripting system which is called Blueprints.
