Should I prefer a cat or a dog?

I want to get a pet and I had a dog before but now its at my own house so I dont know which one is '' better '' even thought I like both, what do you think? Why should i prefer a dog or a cat?

I can confirm this as I had a dog before and a cat too, cats eat and sleep but are cuddly sometimes so idk

Cats cuz they're comfy & so adorable, as far as the dog is concerned, they're also adorable, but r prohibited in our religion to have them in our houses. If you want to have one for security, then there is no harm in that!
