the rtx 2080 is faster by 51% for 1440p gaming. However, RTX 3050 is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. i like rtx 2080 the most.

RTX 2080 makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than RTX 3050 by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. For everyone else, especially those on 1080p or even 1440p monitors, the RTX 3050 could be the better value choice in the short term.
