- Open Task Manager.
- Click the "Details" tab.
- Right-click ShaderCompileWorker.exe and select "Set Priority".
- Select "Above Normal" or "Normal".
- Click "OK".
This will permanently set the priority of ShaderCompileWorker.exe to Above Normal or Normal. This should improve the performance of Materials/Shaders in UE4.
Here are some additional tips for improving the performance of Materials/Shaders in UE4:
- Use fewer materials. The more materials you use, the more time it will take to compile and preview them.
- Use simpler materials. More complex materials will take longer to compile and preview.
- Use LODs. LODs (level of detail) are lower-resolution versions of materials that can be used when the object is far away. This can improve performance by reducing the amount of time it takes to compile and preview materials.
- Use the right settings. The settings you use can have a big impact on the performance of Materials/Shaders. Make sure you are using the right settings for your project.
- Update your drivers. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Outdated drivers can cause performance problems.
- Use a faster computer. If you have a slow computer, you may not be able to get the best performance out of Materials/Shaders. Consider upgrading your computer if you need better performance.
